GEO DESIGNS WIN MAJOR LANDSCAPING AWARD [31/10/2002]
The very best in professional landscaping was recognised last week in what turned out to be the most hotly contested awards in the Association of Professional Landscapers' history.
The trade body's awards were presented at the Horticultural Trades Association conference last week by Mary Reynolds, a designer who won a gold medal for her show garden, A Celtic Sanctuary, at this year’s Chelsea Flower Show.
An "extremely high level of entrants" were attracted to the Gardens under £10,000 category. Such was the competition, judges couldn’t chose between Hambrook Landscapes, of Hampshire, or Geo Designs, of Bedfordshire, with the firms sharing the honours.
Geo Designs project in Biddenham, Bedfordshire, involved the design and creation of a unique "outdoor entertainment" courtyard. "The outdoor space has been transformed to provide an intimate usable space that provides all year interest, architectural planting, built-in barbeque, pergola, timber seating and storage, lighting and a water-feature. The contempary design maximises the use of the space and materials have been skilfully employed to harmonise and contrast with the rest of the garden." |
