Creating gardens that belong to their landscape

There’s something about a Highland garden that’s unlike anywhere else. The quality of the light in late summer. The way a well-chosen plant catches the wind. The moment a space that felt awkward and unloved becomes somewhere you actually want to be.At Geo Designs, we design gardens that feel at home in this extraordinary landscape – not imposed upon it. Whether you’re surrounded by open moorland, tucked into a sheltered glen, or working with a town garden in Inverness, we bring the same care, curiosity and deep knowledge of the Highland environment to every project.

Your garden, designed around you

No two gardens are the same, and no two clients want the same thing. Some people dream of a wild, naturalistic space alive with pollinators and native planting. Others want somewhere elegant and low-maintenance where they can actually relax. Most want a bit of both.We take time to understand what you want and need and not just the practical requirements, but how you want to feel in your garden. Then we design something that delivers exactly that, and fits comfortably within your budget.

Rooted in the Highlands

Ernest George has been designing and building gardens across the Highlands since 1995. In that time he’s worked on everything from intimate courtyard gardens to sweeping rural landscapes, always with the same guiding principle: a great garden works with nature, not against it.That means choosing plants suited to Highland soils and seasons. It means thinking about wildlife, water, and the way a garden changes through the year. And it means giving you a space that doesn’t just look good on the day it’s finished — it gets better with every passing season.

What Our Clients Say

From all of us at GardenGirl a big thank you for a job very well done. Fantastic!  We recognise your efforts and your inestimable contribution regarding the beautiful execution and design of the stand at Chelsea.  We are so pleased with the recognition from the RHS, our award and the press space we were given.

Petra Maison, Designer and Founder of GardenGirl Sweden. RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2013.

Thank you so much for your creativity and the fabulous garden.  We could not have hoped for anything more perfect. Without a doubt it made our purpose at Urban Gardens much more enjoyable than a conventional exhibition stand.

Urban Gardens, Olympia, London. Plymouth Gin and Maxxium UK Ltd.

We are both so very pleased with the final result and can’t wait to show off the garden to our friends and family.  The main deck is the perfect place to sit with a glass of wine listening to the sound of bubbling water.  Thank you again for transforming the “Bovis” mud heap to a garden to be proud of.
